Hi. I'm Sensei William Christopher Ford, Head Instructor of the Kaizen Dojo in Torrance, CA. May of 2014 marked my 40th year as a practitioner of the martial arts and I have been wanting to do something REALLY special to celebrate my 40 years of study... I read the auto biography of Sensei Benny "The Jet" Urquidez in which he wrote of his student, Sensei Fariborz Azhakh... To commemorate his 50th birthday Sensei Fariborz sparred 50 opponents! 50! Now this inspired me to no end! So... How about 40 opponents to celebrate 40 years? But let's do it for a great cause. Let's make it an event that will allow us to help kids. So on July 20th, 2014, I will spar 40 opponents and we will raise $10,000 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital! That's 40 Rounds for 40 Years! St. Jude's was founded in 1962 by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas and for the past 50 years, children from around the world have come to St. Jude for care and treatment. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude's for treatment, travel, housing and food- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
