Skiddometer over 50 decades proven technology has been adapted to use a electrical lift system with the Skiddometer BV11 and the Skiddometer Touch Screen computer, to provide better vehicle integration. The robust and simple construction allows the Skiddometer unit to be installed easily on almost any brand of pickup truck available on the market without modifications to the vehicle itself, including electric vehicles (EV). Friction measurement can take place during the worst possible weather conditions thanks to safe four-wheel drives designed for such conditions. For runway or road maintenance purposes, watering system is seamlessly on board and the vehicle is always ready for friction measurement. Continuous Friction Measuring Equipment (CFME) requires standardized testing tires. In the fixed slip friction testers, the testing tire is slipping on the surface at all times when measuring. The friction is measured between two surfaces, the testing tire and surface where friction value is required. The both surface characteristics impact on the friction coefficient value (µ) measured. Different tires are used in different measurement cases. The correct tire in each measurement case is always based on standards and regulations.
