WHO WE ARE Angels for Animals is a women led compassionate initiative founded by sisters Sejal and Shraddha. Our journey into animal welfare began with a stark realization of the dire challenges faced by voiceless creatures in Goa. Rather than succumbing to helplessness, we chose to be the change. MISSION Our mission is to prioritize animal welfare through sterilization, medical care, community engagement, and the dream of establishing a sanctuary and large hospital for street animals. WHAT WE DO CNVR STERILISATION At Angels for Animals, our core and most vital activity is CNVR (Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release) sterilization. We firmly believe that sterilization is the humane and effective way to address the root causes of street animal overpopulation. In urbanized environments like Goa, where street animals face challenges such as excessive human garbage and limited natural habitats, sterilization plays a crucial role in curbing population growth and improving animal health. RESCUE OPERATIONS Equipped with a specialized rescue van, Angels for Animals responds to distress calls and provides on-site medical treatment to animals in critical condition. We prioritize rescuing abused and injured animals, despite the absence of sanctuaries in Goa. Our team works tirelessly to provide immediate care and transportation to our treatment center, where animals receive comprehensive medical attention and rehabilitation support. ONSITE MEDICAL SUPPORT "At our organization, we specialize in providing on-site medication and treatment for community animals, aiming to create a win-win situation for all parties involved. By treating animals in their own environment, we facilitate a faster and more effective healing process, thus reducing the risk of contracting additional infections that may be present in treatment centers with other sick animals. This approach also helps to maintain the animal's morale and spirit, preventing fear from prolonging the healing process. When a wound or illness can be treated with oral medication, we empower local caregivers by assisting them with administering the medication, often by incorporating it into the animal's food. This collaborative effort not only accelerates the healing process but also fosters a sense of community empowerment and responsibility. By promoting the idea that providing care is not daunting and can be easily integrated into daily routines, we strive to create a harmonious living environment for all. Ultimately, this initiative also alleviates the burden on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) by reducing the strain on their resources. Our dedicated medical teams are also dispatched to conduct necessary diagnostic tests, further ensuring comprehensive care for the animals in need." TREATMENT CENTER AND MEDICAL CARE Our treatment center offers a range of medical services to street animals in need. From treating road accident injuries and skin diseases to managing wounds and infections, our dedicated medical team ensures that every animal receives personalized care and attention. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for animals to recover, with individualized treatment plans and ongoing monitoring. REHABILITATION & REHOMING Rehabilitation: Angels for Animals focuses on rehabilitating animals post-treatment to prepare them for rehoming. We prioritize behavioral rehabilitation and socialization to help animals regain trust and confidence. Rehoming: Through adoption drives and community engagement, we actively seek loving forever homes for our rescued animals. We conduct thorough screening and adoption processes to ensure the well-being of both animals and adopters. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Community Engagement: We conduct outreach programs and educational initiatives to raise awareness about animal welfare and empower communities to take compassionate action. Our goal is to foster a culture of kindness and respect towards animals, encouraging responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of street animals. DAILY FEEDING PROGRAM We provide daily meals for close to a hundred street animals, ensuring they receive nourishment and care amidst challenging conditions.
