Shehu Dikko Unveils Plans to Upgrade Nigeria’s Stadiums

Nigeria’s National Sports Commission Chairman, Shehu Dikko, has returned from a significant tour of leading European stadiums, outlining ambitious plans to upgrade Nigeria’s sports facilities. Following discussions with experts in stadium construction and pitch management, a team of specialists will visit Nigeria to assess current stadiums and begin upgrading pitches to meet international standards, starting with the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. The project will be driven by a newly established National Sports Infrastructure Development and Management Board under the Renewed Hope Initiative. Plans are also underway to revitalise stadiums in Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, Bauchi, and to finalise the Lagos National Stadium concession.
