DUBLIN (Tara Morgan) -- The father of an 8-year-old boy says former Buckeye star quarterback Craig Krenzel assaulted his son during a youth football practice match. Bruce Wolfe filed a police report with Dublin police. Wolfe says Krenzel yanked around his son like a rag doll during a Dublin Football League Junior League practice game Monday night, where Krenzel was in the role of assistant coach. Wolfe says the aggression by Krenzel emerged after Krenzel's son's helmet came off while the two boys were in a hard-nosed block. "Sprinted, sprinted onto the field and threw my child to the ground in an effort to separate the two and then picked up my son off the ground by his shoulder pads while his feet were dangling in the air and continued to scream at him," said Wolfe. Krenzel denied comment. His attorney, Richard Kline, says anyone who reads the police report can plainly see Krenzel acted appropriately and anyone who claims he acted inappropriately is making a false and fraudulent statement that Krenzel did nothing wrong. Wolfe says Krenzel apologized, but Wolfe told him to never put his hands on his son again. Dublin police turned the case over to the prosecutor's office to decide whether there will be charges. The Dublin Football League said a coach was suspended pending an investigation of its own.
