Greenhouse - Is it a Greenhouse or Hot? That is the question.. Kesser grows tomato plants, with seeds taken from a rotten tomato - you will probably hear more about this project another day.. but now he has been lying around all morning thinking, while the little birds sing out in Oma's organic vegetable garden. Greenhouse: Aunt Grøn asked Kesser and Steen the other day how you could grow tomatoes in Denmark - without a greenhouse?? And there are actually several things in one question here. As in why shouldn't you be able to? And what is a greenhouse actually, what does the word mean - what is it used for.. Quite coincidentally, the Man in the Green Shirt has invited Kesser and Steen to an exhibition of modern greenhouses, over at the plant center. Kesser thinks that a greenhouse means a greenhouse where you drive plants forward. A bit like when the cows go to pasture in the spring. You extend a relatively short summer, even though there are bright nights.. an oasis, with maybe a month at both ends. That people today would rather sit and enjoy the warmth themselves is something else - they just call it an orangery - and it sounds more like something in a big castle.. when Steen googles the word - he finds: quality greenhouses (who wants some old crap*), poly-tunnel, orangeries, the greenhouse effect, growth house, Dutch houses.. When was the greenhouse invented? The Danish author Anders Bodelsen wrote “The Greenhouse” in 1965 and this was the beginning of a great writing career. “The Greenhouse” is a short story that contains one plot - the narrator’s development from child to adult. The short story is a flashback to the author’s childhood. He tells of the time when he and the other children in the residential area played hide-and-seek in the summer in a kind of communal garden. From his room, the boy can see a greenhouse that lies behind the gardens. -“jess Kesser .. do they really think that you can hide inside a small glass house of 5 square meters?” says Steen while rolling his eyes -“maybe .. maybe the story tells more .. like an area in a sub neighborhood, where people get greenhouses, rather than just an ordinary kitchen garden, maybe the whole story is also history, about the Danes moving out of the cities and about that time - some families have more money ..” -“but Kesser, maybe we can ask the Man in the Green Shirt if we ever get there before they close the exhibition ..” -“These are the most incredible things that can be interesting if you spend a little time on them. Take this greenhouse here, for example, which is from 1674,” explains the Man in the Green Shirt and begins a description of various types of driftwood orangeries, the 7 Wild Horses - mist bench, melon bells, niches, greenhouses as solar collector houses. Their bars, frames, heat loss from glass surfaces, fertilizer, and a meteor impact in a greenhouse in 1988.. he smiles when he talks about the Dutch tulip hysteria. His own father designed their villa garden, the size of a postage stamp, according to the principles of English gardening. That is, as a stylized version of the natural landscape. The truth is out there 🛸 in fact, greenhouses have been used since the time of the ancient Egyptians … Meanwhile, Steen has found himself a tea table with freshly baked scones and homemade jam .. he doesn't understand the gardener from Padua in Italy, who in 1545, was worried about some small orange trees. How were they supposed to survive the winter? The gardener built a special orangery, which could be heated. Because down in Messina, Sicily, they don't have a problem growing oranges and lemons. *Bras also means brass, so fake gold! #greenhouse #gardening #kesserogsteenpåtur Copyright 2025 - Flamme Rouge 🚩 Nature
