2019 MacVicar Day - "The Educated Student: Thinking and Doing for the 21st Century"

Today’s generation of students is coming of age in a very different world from the one we grew up in. As a group, they’re diverse, tethered to technology, and interested in hands-on experiences. The old modes of learning may no longer be meeting their new needs. How then, should we — as educators — react? At this year’s MacVicar Day symposium, hosted by Vice Chancellor Ian Waitz, we will discuss these concerns and the ways that MIT is adapting to this changing educational landscape.
