Recorded live at the Rabo Theater, Oirschot, Netherlands on September 11th 2004. In 1986 Peter van den Heuvel (Peter Hill) founded the country group the Peter Hill Band in Tilburg. The name was later changed to Savannah. This group has played a mix of country, country rock and Tex-Mex since its inception. Over time, the CDs For You (1991), Lights in the Night (1993), Side by Side (1995), For You (1997), Love, me (1999), New Road: Tribute to the sixties ( 2001), The best of Savannah (2002) and a self-titled album (2009). In 2004 the DVD Live at the Rabo Theater was released. From 1998 to 2002, the group was named 'Group of the year' five times in a row during the prestigious Dutch Country Music Poll Gala. Here were Side by Side and Love, previously voted 'Album of the year'. Individual band members were also honored in various categories. Between 2002 and 2011, Savannah was continuously voted 'Band of the Year' by Dutch country fans. Peter Van den Heuvel left the group in 2000. Savannah has collaborated with greats such as Billy Yates, Johnny Cash, Freddy Fender, Wanda Jackson and Buck Owens. The group has been part of the Country Road Theater Show for several seasons, including with Ruud Hermans. Permanent members were and are Marcel and Wilma Smulders, Joe Brozio, Bob Willemstein and Johan Lemmers, among others. Savannah is a regular contestant on "Back to the Country" a nationwide theater show.
