POTA vs SOTA first activation and first impresions

First POTA activation, carried out over two different days, using the same equipment and CW only. On the first day I operated on the 7, 10, and 14 MHz bands, while on the second day I used 10, 14, 18, and 21 MHz. The same radio equipment was used on both days. The results were comparable, even though the bands and propagation conditions were different. POTA, while much more accessible and less demanding in terms of requirements, and despite using the cluster several times to spot the location, proved to be a less hunted entity than SOTA. The terrain and natural openings are far more advantageous for SOTA activations, where output power and antenna performance are not as critical. In POTA operations, there is a higher likelihood of interference due to the location of many parks near urban areas. I believe that POTA activations benefit from a more efficient antenna, preferably a vertical antenna for the higher bands, and a minimum power level of around 20 W, in order to facilitate SSB operation.
