In the early hours of 4th November 2025, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in Khanpi village, approximately 80 km west of Churachandpur, Manipur. During the operation, terrorists of the UKNA insurgent group resorted to unprovoked firing on the army column. In the ensuing firefight, 4 armed cadres of the group were neutralised. The operation continues, with search operations in adjoining areas underway. This action follows recent violent activities by UKNA cadres, including the killing of a village chief, intimidation of locals, and attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
