I am aware that the link has since been region-locked, and I have no idea how we can really support the creators beyond downloading the game and spending money on it, sorry. Also this message is really long by now, but I something to do while the video is compiling, because while I wasn’t hyperventilating, I did have a faster heart rate and uneven breathing. It’s scary. You see, I planned on releasing this video yesterday, to be more precise, about twenty hours ago. For the people who have seen my last two videos, they know I’ve been experimenting with different video editors and that I am completely clueless with them. Yesterday, when I had finished typesetting everything, something went wrong, basically, the equivalent of all my subtitles getting deleted. Thankfully, I had my translations on a separate document, but… the project had been done, everything had been done, and then it wasn’t. I probably could have gotten this done a few hours earlier, but I needed the time to eat, sleep, mourn—all the essentials to life. Because of that experience, I ended up adding subtitles to it in chunks and then linking the videos together with a separate video editor, but this message is basically just an apology for the quality—I revise and edit as I type, but by the third or fourth time, I got lazy, so there are errors in translations. Originally, I tried synching the subtitles with the Chinese subtitles, but it took a lot of time to try and match it by the millisecond, and since I didn’t know if the chunks would compile correctly the first time, I ended up just timing the subtitles by ear rather than trying to make them simultaneous with the Chinese subtitles, so sorry if that destroys anybody’s immersion. That was from four hours ago. After exporting it for an hour, I got a file with 0KB, the result of a memory leak or something. I ended up having to export it in seven parts and use a fourth video editor to string them together, except the export process destroyed the audio quality—there was a lot of added static—so I also had to reattach the old audio, except it seems to be a little bit offset, because that’s just how my luck has been with this project, but you guys will just have to deal with it since exporting from the fourth editor took about twenty or thirty minutes, and if I have to spend another day on this, it’s never getting posted. Right now, I’m waiting for it to upload to Youtube. If you’ve read this far, I appreciate you. There’s a small voice in the back of my head that is still panicking about legal issues, but for the most part, I am honestly too tired to care. This was a twenty to thirty hour long project, possibly more… I mean, at least I know what I did wrong this time, if I ever want to do anything like this again… I would definitely be willing to answer any and all questions about the translations. There’s a lot of notes I could have made about them, but it’d be very long, and I don’t know if people would want to read it. Instead, I will just answer any questions about the translations below, though I will note now that the Red Queen hypothesis quote was pulled from the original “Alice Through the Looking-Glass” book, rather than the direct translation—something along the lines of “In this world, one must run continuously in order to stay in the same place.” (The one I used was, “now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.”) Another thing is that the translation for the songs seem very bad, and I am aware of that. It is because I tried to keep with the rhythm and rhyme scheme (failed significantly on the latter). I will note, however, that it seems like Chinese songs in general are more metaphorical and poetic than English pop songs, but that is a personal opinion, and we are entitled to those, so please do not attack me.
