"Four Sheets to the Wind" is the debut album from Gnarly Skull, followed quickly by an extremely limited run of the "Stench of Piss E.P." It was recorded in February (and released later in) 2005 at Steel City Studios in Hamilton, Ontario. Produced and engineered by Ryan Cannon. Gnarly Skull are/were: Ryland Lee Lucas- Vocals and Guitar, The Oaf - Bass, and The Rock Legend - Drums. All songs written by Gnarly Skull except: "Obligatory Ballad" (Fernandes, Fernandes, Crookall), "Land of the Dead", "Stankbush" (Milhomme, Wilson, Koziej, Crookall) and "Drink, Fight, Fuck" (GG Allin). Lead Guitar on "Drink, Fight, Fuck" by Ludger "where's the beef" Bourassa. Backing Vocals by the Gnarly Skull Choir of the Damned: Ryan, Darren, Jordan. Musical Inspiration by Our Black Lord and master, Satan. Figure out the lyrics yourself. Hailing from the Hamilton and Niagara Falls Ontario area, (for fans of DRI - "Dealing With It" LP, Gang Green, the Misfits, Guilt Parade) Gnarly Skull built a reputation for drunkenly wild and violent live shows, which resulted in bans from several of the Golden Horseshoe's finer bars. The band gigs locally and in the surrounding areas when possible. Side projects, drug addictions, jail time, and line up changes resulted in a quiet few years for the Skull. But the long time core of Ryland (vocals/guitars), and The Oaf (bass/vocals) were joined by a new drummer as life, and The Rock Legend (original) went on. It's unknown if they still continue to record new material, but hopefully a new split or full length album comes forth unto us. The live experience is worth the price of admission, and the possibility of a new run of merch, (unavailable for years) lives on. If you see the Skull, be prepared, because, in the words of The Oaf, "before this night's through, I'm gonna make you Beg Me to Kill You!"
