Our first stop of the day is to see the beatiful Kawazu -Zakura in Kawazu Town. But, we are a bit late for the Cherry Blossoms Festival as it is in full bloom in early February every year, as the cherry blossoms bloom early, due to the warm climate. It was never late to still enjoy and have fun with the nature. Next stop is Kawazu Nanadaru Waterfalls (nana means seven). Enjoy a refreshing stroll for about an hour along the walking trail, while viewing the beautiful and dynamic seven falls. It is recommended to wear sneakers when taking a walk. After the tiring but fun-filled day, it is always my favorite part to stay in ryokan (Japanese style hotel). You can enjoy natural onsen (hot spring) during your stay and have healty and luxurious dinner/breakfast. Second Day, spent the whole day at the beautiful Coastal City of Shimoda located in the south of the Izu Peninsula. It has historical importance as the landing place of several of Commodore Perry's "black ships" in 1854, an event which led to the end of Japan's era of isolation and the start of diplomatic relations between the US and Japan.
