ADEYTO presents views from Katakai region of Ojiya city and the infamous KATAKAI FIREWORKS FESTIVAL. It takes place on 9th & 10th September and each firework is purchased and dedicated by someone or a group of people to their relatives for celebrating birthdays, weddings, achievements as well as condolences or good health wishes. The year's 20 years olds will dance and sing all day long carrying their self made floats through all the city and offering Sake to adults and drinking together with them. At night after visiting the shrine they go to watch their own firework purchased to celebrate their "coming of age". Worlds biggest firework can be seen at the end of the show by tens of thousands visitors from the entire world. Going backstage to watch the preparation to launching the fireworks is strictly forbidden. Therefore the "rare shots" of preparing the Guiness Book records holder, world's biggest firework, the Yon-Shaku-Dama of Katakai. It has a diameter of 120cm and weights 420kg. Upon exploding, the diameter reaches 800 meter. Yonshakudama can only be seen in Japan and only during the 9th & 10th September 片貝花火まつりFirework Festival in Katakai, a small area of Ojiya city in Niigata prefecture. It is manufactured by Honda Masanori's company and the making process is top secret.
