Eleventh eastbound Winter Park Express of 2026 arrives into Winter Park Resort, CO (WPR)

Amtrak Train 1106 arrives into Winter Park Resort 3 minutes ahead of schedule as we hear Amtrak Train 6 dialing into Dispatcher 378 over the radio. The eastbound California Zephyr has arrived into Fraser 47 minutes behind schedule and as the Winter Park Express comes to a stop here at Colorado's Favorite Ski Area, we listen in on forms and restrictions as we ride up the Apres Gondola during a beautiful sunset. After about 6 inches of much needed snow last night, we see snowmaking operations ramping up on the historic Hughes Trail with piles of snow-whales lining the trail. Following the briefing between 6 and Dispatcher 378, we hear about the PTC issue at DS051 inside the Moffat Tunnel near the east portal at Tolland which has been going on this week. Both the Winter Park Express and California Zephyr will flagged through once the signal is in view. Towards the end of this video, we zoom out towards Fraser where the Zephyr will eventually depart 1 hour 27 minutes behind schedule. Video taken 01/09/2026.
