SOUNDBITE (English) Paulette Mooney, New York resident: ++PARTIALLY COVERED++ “They're wonderful. I've had so many people reach out and just say, let me help you. And these two are amazing. I couldn't get up and they really helped me get up. Oh, everybody's been so wonderful. New Yorkers… you know, a lot of the tourists tell me New Yorker's are so friendly and helpful. So it's really being shown in this snowstorm, how everybody's helping each other.” 4. Mooney walking 5. SOUNDBITE (English) Jake Clay, New York resident: ++PARTIALLY COVERED++ “Whether it be this or like a tree falling or whatever it is, people help. You're all in a small space together, so it only makes sense.” 6. Wide of a Manhattan street 7. Tourists taking photos at the Charging Bull sculpture 8. SOUNDBITE (English) Anna Gracnar, tourist from Slovenia: ++PARTIALLY COVERED++ “Snow didn't stop us, so we have a really good time here. We were a little bit longer in our hotel, but in the evening it was great.” 9. Biker passing a snow-lined street 10. SOUNDBITE (English) Justin Frybergh, New York resident: ++PARTIALLY COVERED++ “Here you got people going to Central Park or Washington Square Park and having like a snowball fight. People kind of embrace it which is nice. I don't think it's been necessarily difficult to get around. The snowplows have been pretty much everywhere, at least where I live and work” 11. Wide of Manhattan street 12. SOUNDBITE (English) Alex Liebergesell, New York resident: “Over the years, I've noticed how temperatures in the winter have risen, they never really get that cold anymore. So this, to me, feels like kind of back to normal as what things used to be maybe 20 years ago.” 13. Wide of a pile of snow STORYLINE: Millions across the northeastern United States contended with treks to school and work as they dug out from a major storm that blanketed the region with snow, canceled flights, disrupted transit and downed power lines. Snow moved north Tuesday giving way to sunshine in parts of the region, but National Weather Service forecasters warned another storm originating in the Great Lakes is right around the corner. Despite the brutal cold, New York residents say they are seeing more people help each other see through the winter cold - neighbors making sure others are safe, or helping those slip on ice. In New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared that more 900,000 students in the nation’s largest public school system had a regular day. Mamdani invited kids to pelt him with snowballs over his decision. =========================================================== Clients are reminded to adhere to all listed restrictions and to check the terms of their licence agreements.
