With roots in prohibition, both the cocktail and the word itself defied each other. Originally referring to those who drank illegally, the word "scofflaw" has come to represent those who disregard small regulations that are difficult to enforce (particularly traffic laws). The cocktail, on the other hand, has remained unchanged for the most part. So I'd say the drink won! This is a bright and tasty cocktail with flavors of spicy rye whiskey and sharp lemon, but presented in a delicate way. In this video I'll show you the recipe I use for the scofflaw.
