The most important bits and pieces for getting started with sonography - David Purkarthofer and Simon Orlob present the most important things you should know about physics when talking about sonography including the basic principles of image generation and ultrasound transducers, an introduction to ultrasound artefacts and the 101 of probe handling and cross-sectional imaging. "Knobology" should help you to understand when to press which of all those shiny buttons on a modern ultrasound machine - and some pearls and pitfalls on the practical application (Thanks to Gregor Prosen for sharing his 5P-model with us!) should get you started doing point of care ultrasound right away! This talk was given at the Late Summer School for Ultrasound, hosted by Sono4You Graz, at the Medical University of Graz in October 2020.
