The game is a next generation dark fantasy isometric Action RPG developed by Moon Beast Productions, a studio founded by industry veterans Philip Shenk, Peter Hu, and Erich Schaefer. The team is led by the creators of Diablo, Diablo II, and Torchlight. The game has Diablo-style progression, skills and itemization matched with open-ended, procedurally generated, dynamically responsive sandbox worlds. Description: Darkhaven is a dark fantasy isometric ARPG set in the aftermath of a total collapse of civilization. You are a survivor in a world where the wild lands and monsters have reclaimed the ruins of long-dead empires. To survive, you must venture beyond the safety of your meager stronghold to hunt the remnants of evil and become the hero this world awaits. Unearth items of legendary power, learn arcane skill trees, and master a combat system that rewards skill and positioning over simple stat-checks. Gameplay Features: Fully Dynamic and Destructible World: Unlike traditional ARPGs with static maps, Darkhaven features a procedural open world where the terrain is completely deformable. You can dig tunnels, break through dungeon walls, drain lakes to reveal ruins, or redirect lava flows to trap enemies. Skill-Based Movement: The game introduces a level of mobility rare in the genre. Players can jump, climb, swim, and dash, making verticality and positioning essential for surviving combat rather than just relying on gear stats. Impactful Loot System: Taking inspiration from Diablo II, the loot focuses on "bold, expressive gear." Instead of incremental +1% stat boosts, items are designed to fundamentally redefine your character build and strategy. Persistent Environment: The world remembers your actions. Large-scale battles leave permanent scars on the landscape, and world-altering events (like volcanic eruptions or ice ages) can physically transform biomes over time. Multiplayer: It supports solo play, co-op, and PvP. Additionally, it features an in-client editor that allows players to create their own monsters, items, and quests in real-time. Release Date and Platforms: Early Access estimated for Q4 2026 to PC. Final release in February 2027.
