The Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024 aims to enhance the functioning and independence of the Railway Board, simplify the legal framework, and prevent the centralization of authority. Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, Indian Railways has achieved remarkable progress, including the creation of new tracks at record speed, electrification of 44,000 km railway network, and the introduction of advanced trains such as Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat. Additionally, over 1,334 stations have undergone redevelopment. Significant advancements have also been made in safety and technology, including the transition from old ICF coaches to modern LHB coaches. All unmanned authorized level crossings are 100% manned or eliminated through the construction of flyovers or underpasses. In the past 10 years, 12,000 flyovers and underpasses have been constructed. To meet the growing demand for general coaches, a special manufacturing program has been launched to produce 12,000 general coaches, ensuring convenience for unreserved category passengers. Indian Railways has introduced an annual calendar for exams. Recruitment for 58,642 positions is currently underway. The recruitment process has remained transparent, with no paper leaks ensuring merit-based employment.
