This is Cummins Falls State Park, located 12 miles north of the town of Cookeville, Tennessee. Coming here is a terrific visit. Just pay $7 entry per person for access to the falls gorge to go swimming. They allow 200 passes per day. I purchased my ticket a day before arriving here and had no issues getting a pass. You can book online ahead of time at tnstateparks.com. It’s a 1 miles descent down to the bottom of Cummins Falls. The trail is rated strenuous but I disagree. I believe it is moderately easy and more of a fun adventure especially when crossing over a few streams and creeks along the way. Leading into hiking among small creeks, I highly suggest wearing water shoes on your visit. It makes navigating the pathway leading to Cummins Falls so much easier. Once arriving at Cummins Falls, you have a beautiful 75 foot waterfall cascading down into a charming pool of water guests can go swimming in. It’s the perfect activity for hot summers while enjoying the great outdoors. You can also climb on the rocks and get close to the falls. The overall setting is peaceful while having the chance to create memorable moments spending time in nature. I visited at the end of August and it wasn’t too crowded when I arrived at 8:30am, but by the time 11am - 12pm rolled around, every parking spot was taken and there were tons of visitors hanging out by the falls. Make sure to bring food and snacks with you for your time there. There’s also a lifeguard on duty overseeing everyone’s activities. Back up at the trailhead is an overlook platform viewing down on Cummins Falls from high above. I suggest taking time to check out the these perspectives. This lookout provides a whole new vantage point of Cummins Falls in the bigger picture. Lastly, you can stop in at the Visitor Center and purchase a souvenir and get your Parks Passport stamped. I used about 3 - 4 hours visiting this popular state park in Central Tennessee. From here at Cummins Falls, I drove 20 miles south and spent the afternoon at Burgess Falls, another worthwhile waterfall park to enjoy. Thanks for coming along on this adventure. Catch ya on the next one. #cumminsfalls #stateparks #tennessee #waterfalls #swimming #greatoutdoors #nature #hiking #hikingadventures
