He earned his Ph.D. in English with a focus on Postcolonial literature and theory from Duke University and completed his M.A. in English at Northern Illinois University. Prof. Mishra has published articles on international and postcolonial topics in journals such as Ariel: A Journal of International English Literature and CR: The New Centennial Review. He has also presented papers and delivered presentations at the Modern Language Association (MLA) and other venues both in the US and internationally, engaging with both academic audiences and the general public. Since 2009, he has been writing a regular column titled "Crossroads" for The Kathmandu Post, and later became a columnist for the Kantipur Daily. Currently, Prof. Mishra is working on two book-length manuscripts: a memoir about his experiences growing up in Nepal and India, and a collection of essays on his extensive travels in Madhesh.
