hello everybody! today i've got a special video for you all- an english translation of an ENTIRE Hevisaurus album! this was done using my own knowledge of the finnish language and some occasional help from finnish communities on the parts i didn't get! if there's any parts i seemed to have heavily mistranslated, please let me know! PLEASE NOTE that some deliberate changes were made in order to help the flow of the translation. for those curious about the segment in Nakkimakkaraa, here is a more accurate translation that also explains the misunderstandings: Herra H.: Where have they gone? Milli: Their fins are beneath the surface! Komppi: What? Did you say sharks can play heavy metal? (*Eviä or "fins" was misheard as heviä or "heavy metal") Herra H.: No, you identify a shark by its fins! (Heviä or "heavy metal" was misheard as evästä or "fin") Muffi: But they don't have any food despite being hungry... (evästä can mean both "fin" and "food", Muffi misunderstood it as the latter) Komppi: Right! Herra H: Rargh, forget it, everyone! Komppi: Okay. Now, a lot of people ask me why I don't just put this in the original translation, since it's technically more accurate. The reason why I changed that particular bit so much was to make sure it still fit the original joke without needing several asterisks to explain it, which would ruin the immersion of the joke. Translation is much more than just switching text from one language to another- it's also a matter of effectively carrying over the emotions, ideas, and context properly in that language, and this sometimes will require heavy rewriting or localization choices. But as this was arguably the most heavily changed bit in the entire translation, I added a disclaimer and explanation here for people to access. includes: Alkutarina, Pelastuspartio, Ugala Bugala, Avaruuden autokorjaamo, Eksynyt metsään, Ihmeainnetta kaljuun, Naurava portinvartia, Uudet tuulet, Zing Zang Zong, Pingviini vilkuttaa, Nakkimakkaraa, Teksasin jättiläinen, and Bassolaukulla maailman ympäri
