A Tale of Two Downwinds || Race 4 RS 800 Inlands

RS 800 dinghy race four of the 2019 Inland Championships. On board footage from the race winning boat 1144. Great skiff sailing race footage with race commentary. This was the second day of the RS800 Inland National Championships held at Grafham Water Sailing Club on the 5-6th October 2019. Harken kindly sponsored this event and Rooster support the RS800 National tour, of which this was part. Race four was a very competitive sail held in 12-15 knots with the result going down to the wire! The RS800 races around windward leeward courses, with the windward mark to be passed to port, then a leeward gate that you pass down through the middle then round the outside. This race was three laps with a short reach from the final leeward gate to a finish line just to windward of the start boat.
