I test and confirm whether it's possible to use VARA FM digipeating mode with a Winlink Express client and RMS Gateway that share the same callsign. Many amateur radio operators (hams) are curious about whether this setup would work, so I put it to the test using my own station, KH6ML. Using two separate radios, computers, and instances of Winlink Express, I successfully established a VARA FM digipeater connection. My Winlink client attempted to reach my RMS Gateway (both under the KH6ML callsign) via a digipeater station, AH6QK. Despite the challenging terrain with multiple hills between my location and the digipeater, I was able to confirm that this setup does indeed work.
