ABOVE BERN: A ride with the Gurtenbahn [4K]

This video presents the faszinating Gurtenbahn in Bern, which has been connecting the Bernese district Wabern with the Gurten Kulm hill for over 125 years. In this high-resolution 4K 60FPS video, you'll see a spectacular ride with the historic meter-gauge funicular, which climbs a maximum gradient of 34% with a height difference of around 267 meters. The Gurtenbahn was commissioned on 12th September 1899 and is one of the most impressive funiculars in Switzerland. It runs to the 858m high Gurten, Berns local hill and offers breathtaking views to the city, the Alps and the Mittelland. After a complete modernisation in 2024, the railway now runs with new, ultra-modern vehicles in a fully automatic operation, which has a capacity of 120 people per vehicle!
