Croton Falls Fire Department Car 2073, Northern Westchester Paramedics 45-Medic-2, Somers Fire Department Tanker 16, Mahopac Fire Department 18-4-1 and 18-2-3, and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps Ambulance 67B1 responding to a 2nd alarm structure fire on Nash Road in the Town of North Salem, New York. A complete rundown of the units that responded is listed below. Originally, the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched for a reported fire in the laundry room of a residence. When Car 2071 signed on, 60-Control (dispatch) advised him that the caller was not on site, but was reporting a fire visible on a security camera. North Salem Police Department was first to arrive and reported the house was fully involved. With this information, Car 2071 transmitted the 10-75 (working fire assignment). Ladder 67 was the first fire unit to arrive and confirmed a fully involved 1.5 story house. While still responding, Car 2071 transmitted the 2nd alarm. Car 2071 arrived on scene shortly after and assumed command. He updated the initial size-up and reported a 60'x30' 2.5 story wood-frame that was well-involved and that two lines were stretched and operating. A mayday was transmitted for a firefighter who fell through the floor, but was quickly cancelled as the firefighter was almost immediately rescued. This prompted a request for additional EMS resources to the scene and a transition to an exterior attack. Car 4515 arrived on scene and established the Medical Branch. He reported a total patient count of three, which included the one firefighter and two occupants of the residence. Ambulance 72B1 transported two patients, both BLS, to Westchester Medical Center. Ambulance 80B2 transported one patient BLS to Phelps Hospital. Command reported all visible fire was knocked down and units were checking for hot spots after just under one hour of operation. The incident was eventually placed under control with all units going back in service after roughly 3.5 hours.
