As I look up the noises fade out and I'm left with the view my ancestors were so familiar with. It almost calms me. Still I force myself to focus on the task at hand and keep moving forward. My softened steps barely audible I look ahead, constantly scanning the vicinity for movement and heat signatures. From time to time a reflection catches my eye but it always turns out to be some piece of glass or metal amongst the rubble.
