Insecurity: Military Engages Retired Senior Officers In Southwest.

Military veterans have been charged to be drivers of peace,unity and progress within their neighbourhood. Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Lucky Irabor made the appeal at a one day security parley with retired senior military officers held at the 2 Division, Army headquarters, Ibadan,Oyo state. He advised them to take up the role of mouthpiece of the armed forces inline with their experience in defence and security matters saying the gesture will complement ongoing military operations to address the nation's security concerns. In his remarks, the Chief of Defence Military Cooperation (CDCMIC), Rear Admiral Fredrick Ogu commended the Defence chief for the initiative which he noted will be replicated across the nation's geo political zones and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Gold Chibuisi while thanking the CDS for hosting the maiden edition of the security parley in Ibadan, described the engagement as apt and timely given the emerging security threats experienced in the city of Ibadan and its environs in recent months.
