Dedicated to the multi-modality treatment of benign skull base tumors, such as vestibular schwannoma and meningioma, Adaptive Hybrid Surgery integrates radiosurgery into the neurosurgeon’s toolkit. Through on-the-fly visualization of the feasibility of adjuvant radiosurgery, Adaptive Hybrid Surgery enables surgeons to combine surgery with the benefits of stereotactic radiosurgery. Aggressive surgical interventions aiming at gross total resection have long been the standard treatment for most benign brain tumors. Today more than half of all cranial benign growths are alleviated surgically using less aggressive approaches, requiring an adjuvant treatment such as stereotactic radiation to maximize tumor control. For these treatments, Adaptive Hybrid Surgery helps to establish an objective crossing point between the two treatment techniques.
