CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A father charged with killing a man who accidentally hit his son with a car maintains he had nothing to do with the crime. A judge ordered Jamall Killiings held on a $2.1 million bond Wednesday morning. Killings and Deonte Baber are both charged with murder in the death of Jamie Urton. Urton was pulled from his car on Kenton St. March 24th and shot in the head. "This young man met with me yesterday, we talked in detail about what went down, his position is he did not do this," said defense attorney Carl Lewis. Killings was captured on a 911 call telling someone what happened. "They killed him for running over my kid! That white dude in the car. They just blazed him. That was that car (inaudible) that was my baby. They just shot him and he dead!" Later in the call, Killings took credit for killing Urton. "I took care of dude. I killed him. He dead. He dead. The dude that hit you by the car I killed him he dead," Killings said. Lewis said his client did not fire the gun at Urton and he was trying to comfort his son when he made the statement. "I know the community is saying 'what about the 911 call?' We're not admitting anything at this point. We're still waiting on the evidence and there's still a lot that has to be brought forth and I'll be speaking with Joe Deters' office about how we move forward on this particular case but he maintains his innocence," Lewis said. Meanwhile, Jamie Urton's family and friends are remembering him on Facebook. They've left messages on his page talking about the man they called Chubb. Judge Gwen Bender ordered a high bond for Killings because he has been convicted of felonies twice in the past. He served time in prison for selling heroin and a fake drug. He also had probation violations. A candlelight vigil will be held for Urton Friday night at 6 p.m. on Kenton St.
