Claymont Fire Company - 3223 Philadelphia Pike Claymont Delaware, 19703 — On December 7th 2024 at 02:46, Engine 13-2 and Tower 13, along with mutual aid companies responded to the Ashbourne Hills Neighborhood for a residential structure fire. While in route Fireboard (NCC Communications Center) notified the units it was reported as a Kitchen Fire. Engine 13-2 arrived as the first engine forward laying from the top of the block as the Tower arrived simultaneously as the first special with smoke showing from a 2 story single family split level home. 13-2 stretched the front bumper while the Tower crew initiated a search. Tower 13 Officer located a fire in the kitchen. 13-2 advances in getting water on the fire shortly after. Tower 13 completed the primary searches and finished the basement check with no findings. As conditions improved command puts the box under control holding units on scene. Several cameras were utilized during this incident, helping our membership obtain footage for this valuable recruitment and training tool.
