March 2023 LabCoP ECHO Session: GLI Planning and Budgeting Tool & Stop TB Partnership GDF Catalogue
This LabCoP ECHO session was jointly organised with the Global Laboratory Initiative (GLI). During the session, we present the GLI Planning and Budgeting Tool for tuberculosis and drug resistant TB testing, the Stop TB Partnership Global Drug Facility (GDF) diagnostics product catalogue and other tools. The Planning and Budgeting Tool includes a semi-automated, editable, Excel-based tool for calculation of quantities and costs of diagnostics products and laboratory supplies that considers country-specific epidemiology and diagnostics algorithms. The tool addresses World Health Organization-recommended diagnostic and drug susceptibility testing methods and items related to biosafety, cleaning, equipment maintenance and repair and references product numbers, and prices in the GDF catalogue. GDF shares recent updates to its product catalogue and highlights other tools available to support procurement and supply chain planning for TB diagnostics. The session included a Q&A segment for participants who are considering using the tool to prepare for the Global Fund applications.
