This little village in the South Shore of Nova Scotia is home to two lighthouses (the Medway Head Lighthouse on Long Cove Road and the Port Medway Lighthouse at the end of Port Medway Road, which begins at exit 17a). It is hard to believe that this little community was once a bustling town by the thousands. Now, Port Medway is a community of under 300 people - where generations of locals, working families, and "come-from-aways" live harmoniously with each other. Just like many similar places in Nova Scotia, it's natural beauty is unspoiled. And for locals, Long Cove Road is just a side step where one can look out into the vast horizon of the Atlantic, and during winter, admire snow on its rocky beaches caressed by the ocean waves.
