You're Invited: New York Super Trunk Show, Saturday, October 4, 2025! I’m back in London for one of the most anticipated highlights in the world of fine footwear—the World Championship of Shoemaking! Now in its sixth edition, this celebrated competition brought together 25 talented makers from around the globe, each tasked with crafting a dark brown, cap toe double monk strap under strict guidelines. As always, the jury of master shoemakers judged the entries across three categories: Degree of Difficulty (10 points), looking at the complexity and advanced techniques employed; Execution (10 points), evaluating the precision, finishing, and overall quality of construction; and Design & Aesthetics (5 points), assessing balance, proportions, and the artistic impression of each shoe. Organized by Shoegazing, The Shoe Snob, and myself—with generous support from sponsors—the championship continues to be a cornerstone of the London Super Trunk Show. Beyond the competition itself, it’s a celebration of tradition, creativity, and the extraordinary heights of craftsmanship.
