DARJEELING NURSE ASSAULTED BY DOCTOR IN COOCH BEHAR – Senior Doctors Seen Laughing

In a shocking incident, senior nurse from Darjeeling Sr. N. Tamang, who is currently posted in the Maharaja Jirendra Narayan Medical College and Hospital, Cooch Behar was physically assaulted and verbally abused by a first year PGT Dr. Vivek Raj. A nurse from Kalimpong had been assaulted in this same hospital in 2021. No action has been taken against the perpetrators of that assault as well. It is obvious, the hospital authorities and the WB Health Department have failed to protect our Sisters. The authorities should take the strictest of action against the offending doctor. The nurses should feel safe in the hospital they work in, they should not have to fear assault, least of all from the doctor, who seems to have massive behavioural issues.
