So why not convert them into chaos space marines of a different chapter such as Word Bearers? For me the Word Bearers come with three things: Books and scrolls, daemonic mutations and flames to purge the false believes in the corpse emperor. I set about Abaddons basic model and got him a daemonic claw and feet, a flaming mace and candles and all kinds of books and scroll work hanging of his epic terminator armour. Naturally a terminator lord like this needs to be painted in a grimdark style. For me that's mottled and rough armour, infected burning skin, rust, dust, grime and durt and good blood effects.
