Date filmed: 13/09/2022 Videos filmed at: 11:06 | 11:12 Route: Cornish Main Line Camborne Station Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barriers crossing with CCTV (MCB-CCTV) Location: Trevu Road, Camborne Trains featured: Lowering 1 (Starts at 0:00) Class 43 HST ' Castle Set' (Great Western Railway) - 1:35 Penzance ➡ Cardiff Central - Lowering 2 (Starts at 2:55) Class 802 (Great Western Railway) - 4:16 London Paddington ➡ Penzance A level crossing found next to Camborne Railway Station in Camborne, Cornwall. There are quiet alarms here, a total of 5 LED wigwags / road traffic lights, one of which is thin, and four full barriers. The level crossing was renewed to have its current set-up of warning and protective equipment in late 2016 - early 2017. There is a footbridge here for pedestrians to use when the barriers are lowered. Two separate lowerings are featured, each happening only a few minutes apart. In the first, a nostalgic and iconic Class 43 'HST' in a shortened form is seen departing the station running a service towards Cardiff Central, with the iconic sound of the revs building as it gets ready to move and pulls away. The replacement for their full-length counterparts which ran out of London Paddington until May 2018 (an 'IET') is seen in the second. Thanks for watching!
