Episode 31 of Piping Up with Stephen Regec Welcome to Colonial Park United Church of Christ in Harrisburg, PA. It is home to a remarkable M.P. Möller pipe organ, Opus 9434. Initially built in the 1920s, this 27-rank, 1,625-pipe instrument has undergone multiple updates to maintain its grandeur, first by Möller in the 1960s and more recently by a local organ company. The organ features three divisions—Great, Swell, and Pedal—offering a versatile range of tonal colors. Over the years, adjustments have been made to refine its voicing while preserving its traditional Möller character. Currently, the organ remains an integral part of worship and musical life at CPUCC, but additional tonal refinements are planned to enhance its balance and overall cohesiveness. Phase 1 of the revoicing project includes adjustments to pipe scaling for improved clarity, enhancements to existing ranks for a more unified ensemble, and careful modifications to ensure that each division speaks with appropriate presence. These efforts preserve the organ's historic integrity while making it even more expressive for congregational singing, choral accompaniment, and solo repertoire. Colonial Park United Church of Christ has a long-standing faith, community, and music tradition. The congregation has continuously valued the role of sacred music in worship, and the organ has played a central role in that tradition. Pastor Scott Siciliano, Minister of Worship & the Arts, leads this musical expression and has served at CPUCC since 2008. A gifted liturgical artist, pianist, organist, and baritone soloist, Scott holds degrees in Sacred Music and Organ from Messiah University and a Master of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary. In addition to his role at CPUCC, he serves as a worship leader and instructor at Lancaster Theological Seminary and is a composer and arranger with national recognition. As a member of the Grammy-nominated Susquehanna Chorale, he continues to contribute to the broader musical community. Scott's passion for music began early, with a memorable kindergarten solo and his first piano compositions as a child. His anthem, "Be the Church," has been widely performed and celebrated in various congregations. His work can be explored further through his website, scottsiciliano.com, and YouTube channel. Under his leadership, CPUCC's organ remains a historic instrument and a living, evolving part of the church's worship and artistic life. Channel Intro music is brought to you by Walker Technical Organ Company and Daniel Umholtz. For more information about the organ, visit https://pipeorgandatabase.org/instrum...
