Sneezing and catarrh are common symptoms of cold or flu or sometimes allergy or nasal infection. So if the person has sneezing and catarrh we start with some basic home remedies inhaling steam with the eucalyptus oil or as simple as vicks vaporub or capsules available with concentrated solution like carbol plus. So you can use start basic treatment at home with steam inhalation. You can consume some food material which are rich in vitamin C. Keep yourself warm and consume a lot of liquids. Beyond that if the symptoms are persisting you need some medical management. Then you start with basic anti cold or anti allergic medications antiallergic medications like citrizine with low dose. If you find relief with that along with steam inhalation and more liquids then you can continue it for a couple of days till the symptom subsides. If it goes beyond that or you have additional symptoms like fever, headache coming up sore throats or anything like that then obviously the catarrh has become a proper infection then there might be a requirement of an antibiotic depending on the situation. Additionally you can also take painkillers and fever medications like crocin to just suppress the fever symptoms.
