“Songs of Living Love” (the complete LP) is a great choral collection by Ralph Carmichael’s Singers and Orchestra, featuring eight songs by composer Bob Ashton plus two classic gospel songs. Ralph’s arrangements on eight of the tunes utilized 20 strings, 8 brass and 5 rhythm plus singers. Two of the songs were recorded by the George Roumanis Singers and Orchestra. The titles include: “A Living Portrait,” “His Love for Me,” “I’ve Needed This Touch,” “The Old Rugged Cross” (George Roumanis), “The Real Brotherhood,” “A Miracle Called Love,” “The Gift of Love,” “For Everyone, His Love,” “He’s My Saviour” (George Roumanis), and “Love Lifted Me.” This is the third in a series of choral collaborations by Ralph and Bob. The first two were “Songs of Living Faith” and “Songs of Living Hope.” This album was released on American Artists Records. Ralph and Bob Ashton collaborated on a total of seven projects that showcased Bob’s songs.
