Transformation of Sentences (Exercise) Sentences containing the adverb, "too" 1.We can change the form of a sentence containing the adverb, 'too' as shown below: (i) The news is too good to be true. The news is so good that it cannot be true. (ii) He is too old to run . He is so old that he cannot run . (iii)The man was too clever to be received . The man was so clever that he could not be deceived . 2. Interchange of Affirmative and Negative Sentences Affirmative Sentences can be transformed into Negative Sentences, and vice versa: Affirmative: I was doubtful whether it was you. Negative : I was not sure that it was you. Affirmative : As soon as the thief saw the police , he ran away. Negative : No sooner did the thief see the police than he ran away. Affirmative : She is the most beautiful girl in the world . Negative : No other girl in the world is as beautiful as she . 3.Interchange of Interrogative and Assertive Sentences Interrogative: Can anyone change the weather ? Assertive : No one can change the weather.
