The long march back to the Master Grade takes one final step... The Raider Gundam is one I've been eyeing up for a while, but it was only in the last month or so that I finally went ahead and picked one up. It's certainly an interesting kit, and it ended up being a fair bit bigger than I was anticipating. For one, the normal Gundam face mask has been altered quite a bit to add an extra cannon-thing, and the black-and-red color scheme gives it a suitably evil aesthetic. It does clash a little bit with the muted light greens that make up the claws and parts of the head, but I think it helps those parts stand out much better so I'm all for it. The build itself is pretty straightforward, as most kits of this type tend to be. The decals, however, were not. For some reason instead of just getting the normal decals (which basically just replaces the stickers with decals so you can use the same guide), I got the "Delphi Version", which is basically their take on how the decals should look. It's a pretty neat feature, but it took me probably twice as long to do it this way than if I had just gone with the regular version. I'll definitely keep that in mind if I ever run into this sort of thing again. Overall, a pretty neat little kit and a fitting end for our long MG drought. Next time we will be rectifying this oversight, so stay tuned.
