S3 Replays: Vehicular Squidslaughter, but it's Rainmaker (Full-Stream Ahead) (Reminiscing Replays)

Full stream ahead is an interesting challenge. Even more so this third time, because they swapped the mode from Splat Zones to Rainmaker. Anything I'd theorized about strategy wise between perching and flicking and just running around? Basically out the window, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Given how Zones is always so campy during challenges, having a mode that is far less defensively focused changed things dramatically. It helps that they picked a good pair of maps to go along with the new mode for this challenge run. It really felt like a new challenge, and I enjoyed it. Worth noting is that most, if not all, Rollers and Brushes aren't great at popping the Rainmaker shield quickly on their own, so any kits that helped boost damage to the shield (Bomb sub weapons, Tenta Missiles, Wavebreaker, and perhaps Kraken Royal, Killer Wail 5.1, and Sprinkler) were great to have. Beakons, as usual for this challenge, were also pretty good, because any super jump landing just out in the open was a near guaranteed death sentence. Wavebreaker was probably better than usual in this run, given it could do its usual business of slowing down opposing traffic, and additionally has stupid good Rainmaker Shield damage (all three shockwaves uncontested can pop the shield on their own) and came attached to Painbrush, which had just had its continuous flicking speed buffed and felt like a monster.
