Ahoy Wooden Boat Fans! In Episode 5 of our journey to restore the classic 1936 Bertham Gauntlet ocean-going yacht Syrinx we rejoin Rich and Ronan and a supporting cast of talented Tradesmen as they complete site work on their little “Boatyard in the Woods”. We perform a site survey, harvest several giant western red cedars, spread ballast and gravel, all to prepare our site for the arrival of our lovely wooden yacht Syrinx. Finally the big say arrives and we travel to historic Port Townsend, WA to prepare Syrinx for a four-hour drive around Puget Sound. The journey turns out to be a memorable and challenging one with no shortage of drama and tension as things don’t go quite as planned. Come on along! HUGE THANKS!!! to the highly-skilled tradesmen who helped with this phase of our project: 1) Precision Logging & Excavating, Stanwood, WA / precisionlog 2) Lenz Enterprises, Stanwood, WA https://lenz-enterprises.com/ 3) Associated Boat Transport, Marysville, WA https://www.associatedboat.com/ 4) Sea Marine Full-Service Boat Yard, Port Townsend, WA https://www.seamarineco.com/ We’d also like to thank the following talented Artists for the music to help tell our story: 1) Audionautix: Acoustic Guitar 1 2) The 126ers Wes Hutchinson: Wide Awake 3) Chris Haugen: Castleshire Finally, BIG THANKS to all the YouTube viewers who liked, commented, and shared our previous Episodes and subscribed to our channel.
