Bottom - 2nd application, EL125RWMA - Bent to have access to bottom of terminal, or a grounding plane electrode can be used. EL125GROUND - Copper Grounding Plane with 1/8" post and 1/4" thick welding platform to be used with WH1125 Settings: The 0.005" stainless steel ribbon is welded to the steel terminal/tabs at 140ws. Pulse 1 is turned off. Pulse 2 is turned to the maximum. Pressure is set to 8 pounds of force. Trials/Results: The CD200DP spot welder, paired with the WH1125A is a great solution to weld 0.005" stainless steel ribbon to the steel tabs/terminals. We achieved great weld strength with this system. We used the same top electrode for both welds: a 0.125" copper electrode, tapered to 0.080" at the tip. We ensured that the electrode was clean and flat using a 600 grit sand paper. For the single ribbon to the single tab, we used a flat-ended 0.125" electrode as the bottom electrode. For welding the ribbon to the two-tabbed component, we used a bottom electrode which was bent to gain access to the underside of the top tab. A grounding plane electrode will also work, to gain access through the side. Let us know if you have any questions.
