It is grounded in sovereignty, land, history, and living Indigenous communities. In this episode, I discuss why Native American Studies requires a different kind of attentiveness — one that moves beyond romanticization, beyond extraction, and beyond purely Western frameworks. We talk about sovereignty, positionality, land as relation rather than property, and the importance of reading with humility. This is not about having all the answers.
