In this short video, we tell you all about the brutal and barbaric medieval and Tudor torture device known as the Scavenger's Daughter. It was a device which would have been used alongside the infamous rack, which was used to stretch the body. The Scavenger's Daughter however aimed to compress the body and contort it into rather bizarre shapes. Made famous during the reign of Henry VIII, it was used in many cases and would usually result in excruciating pain for a prisoner. As with all medieval torture, it would have been used as a method to extract information from an individual, or to make them give up any names of co-conspirators. Thanks for watching!
