Reticulated Python (งูเหลือม) caught at Grandma's House

A couple of days ago, I was called to my wife's mother's house in Phichit (พิจิตร) to catch a snake. This is quite a regular occurrence, as she has a large and rather wild garden. This time the snake turned out to be a reticulated python - Malayopython reticulatus (งูเหลือม) in a small tree in front of the house. It was a bit of a battle, which involved being bitten several times by ants, but in the end I managed to get my hands on the snake, and pull it out of the tree. It had a bulge in its body, so I rather suspect it had eaten some pigeon chicks from a nest in the tree. My daughter, Rosie, did a great job of filming the whole event, and then we went out of town to release the snake into a suitable alternative location.
