The idea that one enters a job or career and education and learning stop is an outdated philosophy. As our companies transition to machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, chatbots, neural networks and other AI agents, human soft skills increase in importance. Developing mindset, context, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, judgment, leadership, re-imagination, and trust building is essential for a capable and productive workforce. For leaders and employees to be prepared as we move from the 3rd to the 4th industrial revolution and from the 2nd to 3rd wave of business transformation requires developing learning organizations that are in constant states of knowledge seeking. Helping organizational leaders better lead humans to be more ‘human’ and AI Agents to do what it is they do best require concentrated education and training. Similarly, the ability to reimagine work outside preconceived constraints is not natural for many people. Lastly, developing the superpower partnerships of the human + machine will continually evolve and present challenges to today's leadership and workforce. Overcoming the fear of displacement in AI automation is possible when employees and leaders understand their true value. Soft skill development is essential.
